Andy has taken up his first director’s job since stepping down as Asda CEO by joining the board of food technology start-up Spoon Guru.

Based in London, the company allows consumers to search through produce according to specific dietary needs and it has already partnered with Tesco to implement its search tools into the retailer’s online groceries site.

Spoon Guru was set up in 2015 by Markus Stripf after his wife developed food allergies, and it has since gone on to launch in the US and is now looking towards Australasia.

Andy is looking forward to supporting Spoon Guru as it continues to grow, adding: “I’ve spent my career looking at ways to simplify how people shop and for someone who has spent their life in the food industry this is a great way to explore that.”
